Election Notice

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Clark Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Clark Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.

There are 3 ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:

  1. At the SWCD office, Springview Government Center, 3130 East Main St. Springfield, Ohio 45503 , from 8/11/2025 until 9/9/2025 during normal business hours; or
  2. At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place at The Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center, 275 South Limestone St., Springfield, Ohio 45505 on 9/9/2025 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm ; or
  3. Voting absentee from 8/11/2025 until 9/9/2025, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office at the following address: Springview Government Center, 3130 East Main St., Springfield, Ohio 45503, by calling 937-521-3880, or email cperkins@clarkcounty.gov. Absentee ballots must be received by the SWCD office by 9/9/2025 at 12:00 pm.

2 Supervisors will be elected to a three‐year term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2028.

Applications Now Open for the Dale Stewart Conservation Scholarship

The Clark SWCD is offering two non-renewable $1,000 college scholarships to students enrolling in classes which focus on natural resources, agriculture, environmental science or a related field.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants or parents must live in Clark county.
  • Open to students who will be enrolled in college or university for fall of 2026.
  • Applicants must have a decided major in natural resource, agriculture, environmental science or a related field.
  • Students are eligible to receive the scholarship more than once.

Submit:

  • Online application
  • Two letters of recommendation, by employer or teacher (past or current)
  • An original essay covering the following judging criteria:
    • Academic Achievement
    • Your commitment to the program of choice
    • Life experiences that have influenced your personal growth
    • Community activities
    • Demonstration of leadership
    • Jobs, clubs, community service or athletic participation

Application, letters of recommendation, and essay must be received in the Clark SWCD office or uploaded to the website before 4:30 P.M. on May 1, 2026. The Clark SWCD is located in the Springview Government Center, 3130 E. Main St, Springfield, OH 45503.

All submitted paperwork is confidential and becomes the property of the Clark SWCD. Decisions on scholarships are final. 

The recipients of these scholarships will be notified after the May 2026 Board of Supervisors meeting. Terms of scholarship payment will be mutually agreed upon. Recipients will be invited to the Clark SWCD Annual meeting in September for recognition.
