Applications Now Open for the Dale Stewart Conservation Scholarship

The Clark SWCD is offering two non-renewable $1,000 college scholarships to students enrolling in classes which focus on natural resources, agriculture, environmental science or a related field.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants or parents must live in Clark county.
  • Open to students who will be enrolled in college or university for fall of 2024.
  • Applicants must have a decided major in natural resource, agriculture, environmental science or a related field.
  • Students are eligible to receive the scholarship more than once.

Submit:

  • Two letters of recommendation, by employer or teacher (past or current)
  • An original, one typed page essay covering the following judging criteria:
    • Academic Achievement
    • Your commitment to the program of choice
    • Life experiences that has influenced your personal growth
    • Community activities
    • Demonstration of leadership
  • Also include a title page which lists the following information:
    • Name, Address, Phone Number
    • High School Attended, year graduated & GPA
    • College or University: Major, second major if applicable, Minor
    • Jobs, clubs, community service or athletic participation

Applications and letters of recommendation must be received in the Clark SWCD office before 4:30 P.M. on May 3rd 2024. The Clark SWCD is located in the Springview Government Center, 3130 E. Main St, Springfield, OH 45505.

All submitted paperwork is confidential and becomes the property of the Clark SWCD. Decisions on scholarships are final. Please email cperkins@clarkcountyohio.gov with any questions.

The recipients of these scholarships will be notified after the May 2024 Board of Supervisors meeting. Terms of scholarship payment will be mutually agreed upon. Recipients will be invited to the Clark SWCD Annual meeting in August for recognition.
